My Journey

Karen M. Fowler is the Executive Vice President for Strategy and Business Innovation at INTETHIQ, where she plays a crucial role in fostering inclusive cultures, systems, and programs that leverage diverse talent for innovation, productivity, and growth. 

 

With a career spanning over thirty-five years, Karen has advised CEOs, university presidents, and global client groups, establishing herself as a strategic and effective change agent across corporate, nonprofit, and academic sectors.

 

Karen’s expertise encompasses organizational design, talent management, leadership coaching, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and more. She has been instrumental in designing and implementing initiatives that enhance organizational capabilities and employee engagement worldwide.

 

Before her tenure at INTETHIQ, Karen was the Global Vice President at Hexion, Inc., where she pioneered the company’s global DEI strategy. This initiative focused on supplier diversity, community involvement, associate engagement, and creating an inclusive global workplace. At the National Diversity Council and Ohio Diversity Council, she worked closely with C-suite leaders to enhance DEI capabilities within their organizations.

 

Karen also made significant contributions to Thermo Fisher Scientific by leading global DEI strategies that improved organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Her leadership experience extends to roles at Spectrum, The Ohio State University, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Ohio University.

 

Her certifications include Unconscious Bias, Leadership Development, Valuing Diversity & Inclusion, and Diversity and Inclusion for Leaders, among others. Karen actively serves on various boards, contributing her expertise to local and national organizations. She has been recognized for her leadership and commitment, receiving several awards for her contributions to the business community and her advocacy for the Latinx community.

 

A respected speaker, Karen shares her insights on leadership, diversity, and intergenerational workforce dynamics at major conferences. She continues to mentor women in college and the professional sphere, guiding them towards success.
