My Story

Alan K. Nevel is at the helm as CEO and Managing Partner of INTETHIQ, a noteworthy firm offering management consultancy and professional services. INTETHIQ is dedicated to equipping businesses with the necessary tools to effectively navigate significant shifts in culture, leadership, talent, and digital platforms.

Alan's impressive leadership, honed over three decades in the industry, has proven successful in global Fortune 500 companies by promoting inclusive systems, fostering engaging cultures, and deploying equitable, value-generating programs.

Prior to the inception of INTETHIQ in 2023, Nevel held the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Equity and Community Impact Officer at The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio. His role was to devise and execute a community-centric, patient-focused strategy to foster healthcare equity and foster collaboration across sectors to eliminate disparities in healthcare. In this multifaceted role, Alan was also the chief designer of MetroHealth's comprehensive vision of diversity, equity, and inclusion, working at both programmatic and administrative levels across various departments, programs, and initiatives to dismantle systemic inequities affecting patients, employees, and the wider community.

In 2018, Alan joined MetroHealth as SVP, Chief Diversity and Human Resources Officer, coming from his former role as VP, Global Diversity and Inclusion at Thermo Fisher Scientific, a multinational corporation specializing in life science solutions, specialty diagnostics, and laboratory equipment. Before Thermo Fisher, Nevel held positions related to Diversity and Inclusion, HR Strategy Delivery, Talent Development, and Organizational Change Management at L Brands and Victoria’s Secret, both high-profile fashion retailers based in Columbus, Ohio.

Alan initiated his professional journey in R&D and manufacturing at Sherwin Williams Company, subsequently transitioning into a fruitful management consultancy career with Accenture. A coveted speaker and educator, Alan graduated from Cleveland State University (B.A.) and Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management (MBA), where he is an Adjunct Professor in the WSOM Healthcare MBA Program.

Alan is actively involved in many local and national boards, like The MetroHealth Foundation, The Cleveland State University Foundation, Urban League of Greater Cleveland, Recovery Resources, New Bridge Cleveland, CHC-Creating Healthier Communities, and the National Society of High School Scholars, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to education and community service.

In 2020, he established the Alan K. Nevel and Family Scholarship Endowment, a scholarship program for underrepresented minority students at his alma mater, Cleveland State University.

“His confident demeanor and unique perspective on leadership
were particularly compelling.”
